Simple descriptions of most of the procedures offered are below.
-
Exams
Regular exams are essential for preventive care. Dental decay and gum disease can be prevented. Treatment of existing decay or disease gone untreated may result in danger to your total health. We also monitor oral cancer and TMJ disorder. -
Cleanings
Getting your teeth clean on a routine basis is necessary for healthy teeth and gums. The soft deposit, plaque, contains bacteria that emit acid. This results in eventual decaying of your teeth. In addition, plaque becomes calcified by the calcium in saliva. This, in turn, creates an irregular, rough surface, which promotes plaque adhesion. -
Composites
Otherwise known as “bonding” or “white fillings”, these are usually the alternative to amalgam (silver) fillings. Composite can be used to fill cavities, or it can be used to build up broken front teeth to change the esthetic appearance dramatically. -
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns and bridges are used in cases when a filling is not enough to restore normal function. Sometimes, there is not enough tooth structure to support filling material by itself, and other times, we need to create too much of a drastic change for fillings to be sufficient. These are cemented in and are not removed to clean daily. -
Veneers
A slightly more conservative alternative to crowns. Veneers are generally used to achieve a more esthetic appearance or the front teeth. Even though this falls under the “cosmetic dentistry” category, many insurance companies pay for them in certain situations. -
Extractions
This is removal of teeth. We make sure you're comfortable and even provide a mild sedative when necessary for you to be relaxed. -
Root Canals
Root Canal therapy is necessarily when the nerve tissue is irreversible damaged by either trauma or decay. It's basically a filling that goes all the way to the ends of the root tip. -
Dentures
The more economical way for replacing the spaces of missing teeth, these are sometimes known as “false teeth” or “plates.” They must be removed and cleaned regularly. -
Implants
The more expensive way to replace missing teeth. Titanium implants are place in your bone, and they are permanent. Implant technology is a wonderful thing. It allows us to replace the tooth without any damage to the teeth surrounding it. Almost like growing another tooth in place! -
Sealants
A non-invasive procedure to prevent decay in deep grooves or pits of young teeth. This requires no “drilling.” -
Teeth Whitening
There are many options to achieve whiter teeth. Depending on the type of discoloration and the extent, we can explain what treatment may be best for you. -
Nightguards
There is a great percentage of people that grind their teeth without even realizing it. This results in worn teeth, sensitivity, and/or jaw joint deterioration and pain.
